Travel the world without leaving Georgia

At the Global Village & Discovery Center, you can learn how Habitat for Humanity International works in partnership with families everywhere to eliminate poverty housing.

The 6-acre village is a unique way to travel the world without leaving beautiful Southwest Georgia.

One of Georgia’s historical attractions

Habitat’s Global Village & Discovery Center is a valued addition to the rich cultural and historical attractions of Southwest Georgia. Within 10 miles of Americus are President Jimmy Carter’s home and museum in Plains and his boyhood farm in Archery.

Also nearby are the Andersonville National Historic Site, the National Prisoner of War Museum and many homes and buildings on the National Register of Historic Places.

A stop on the SAM Shortline train

The Global Village & Discovery Center is a destination on the SAM Shortline Excursion Train route from Cordele to Plains, Georgia.
