Argentina — Assistant Volunteer Coordinator
Title: Assistant volunteer coordinator
Location: Habitat for Humanity Argentina national office—Buenos Aires, Argentina
Term of Service: 6–12 months (To be filled in as soon as possible.)
Assignment summary
This position reports to the national volunteer coordinator and is based out of the national office in Buenos Aires. Volunteers are key to spreading awareness and building support for HPHA's mission, and the assistant volunteer coordinator will play a crucial role in achieving this.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and improve the systems established.
- Conduct searches for volunteers and hold training sessions for those interested in volunteering.
- Answer questions from people interested in volunteering with the Buenos Aires office.
- Learn to match volunteers with particular activities and programs of HPHA Buenos Aires.
- Organize dates and times for volunteer information meetings and training sessions.
- Provide regular organizational updates to both inactive and active volunteers.
- Conduct periodic evaluations with both group and individual volunteers.
- Assist with ongoing HPHA events, particularly those involving volunteer efforts.
- Establish links with different volunteer organizations in Buenos Aires
Requirements
We are looking for someone who takes responsibility, has initiative and is motivated, dedicated and proactive. Requirements include:
- Spanish and English fluency, both written and oral.
- Experience in public relations, tourism or hospitality, marketing, advertising, translation and interpretation, communications, education, recruitment and group interation.
- Volunteer management experience.
- Flexibility.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
- Ability to work with diverse groups.
- Ability to use Microsoft Office programs (i.e., Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Two to four years of university education.
- Construction site experience.
- Ability to work in a team.
- Creativity.
- Experience working in multicultural environments.
Support from the host organization.
Due to the limited computers at the national office, it is preferable for the volunteer to bring a laptop. Position-related transportation will be provided.
Volunteer will be responsible for all other costs associated with living in the host country.

Visas are given for a maximum period of three months. Volunteers are then required to leave the country and reenter in order to be granted another three months. Most volunteers will take a trip to neighboring countries, such as Uruguay.
